Sonam Kapoor suggests methods to reduce negativity on Twitter after Chrissy Teigen quits the platform

Model and television personality Chrissy Teigen recently announced her decision to quit Twitter citing negativity as a prime reason. Now, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who herself had faced online trolling and bullying in the past, suggested that ID proofs be made mandatory while creating social media accounts to combat the menace of anonymous trolling. Suggesting to reduce negativity on Twitter, Sonam wrote, 'Should we all quit Twitter? I'm not very active but I get my news through it. But there is no accountability on the social media platform. Opening social media accounts should be like opening any other accounts in the real world. You should need an ID proof.' Earlier, while leaving Twitter, Chrissy Teigen wrote that for more than a decade, her followers have been her ‘world’. 'But it’s time to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.'
