Shekhar Kapur talks about 'Winston Churchill' while expressing his views on 'racism' debate revolving around the British royal family

Meghan Markle recently went on to make some shocking claims and revelations about how she and her husband Prince Harry were mistreated by the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey and created an uproar on social media. Veteran actress and show-host Simi Garewal was among the first from Bollywood to express her views on the same. Now, noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has also taken to his Twitter handle to express his views on the ongoing controversy. In his tweet, Shekhar Kapoor wrote, 'While the Nation and world is obsessed with the question Are the British Royal Family Racist? They would do better to enquire into one the abject racism of the great British Hero Winston Churchill. Whose racist actions cost millions of lives in India. #racism #HarryandMeghan' Well, for the unversed, the former actress and the wife of Britain's Prince Harry, Meghan Markle recently claimed that the 'British royal family' denied helping her during her mental health crisis and there were even concerns about the skin colour of her then-unborn son as her father is white. Soon after the interview went viral on social media, veteran actress Simi responded to her allegations. Taking to her Twitter handle, Simi called the former American actress and Duchess of Sussex 'evil' and accused her of using a 'race card' as she tweeted, 'I don't believe a word Meghan says. Not a word. She is lying to make herself a victim. She is using the race card to gain sympathy. Evil.' The veteran actress even faced severe backlash from trolls for her tweet. However, Oprah Winfrey recently confirmed that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle referred to Queen Elizabeth II or her husband, Prince Philip in their statement revealing that members within the royal ranks had expressed concerns about their first-born son Archie’s skin colour. Post that, Prince Harry's brother Prince William also defended the royal family and said that the Royals are 'very much not a racist family.'
