Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi passes away

Veteran actor and Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi passed away in Mumbai on November 22 due to age-related illness. She was the wife of famous Urdu poet and film lyricist Kaifi Azmi. The late actress, who was in her early 90’s, was earlier admitted to a hospital in Mumbai but was brought back home before she breathed her last. Shaukat Kaifi was a theatre artiste who is survived by her son Baba Azmi and daughter Shabana Azmi who is married to lyricist Javed Akhtar.
