'Sex is bad but rape is okay': Ekta Kapoor on cyber-bullying and rape threats

TV mogul Ekta Kapoor is making headlines after a police complaint was filed against her and her mother Shobha Kapoor. Trouble began brewing for her when a controversial sex scene in her web series was labelled as ‘an insult’ by a few netizens. The producer said that she has received rape threats and has been a target of cyberbullying post that. Now, Ekta says that all the objectionable scenes have been deleted. She even apologised to the people whose sentiments were hurt due to her series. In an interview, she said, ‘The content aside, I don't mind coming up with an apology for the Army officers because we don't have problems with them. But what irritated me the most was cyber-bullying.’ To the person who sent her the threats, Ekta said, ‘This is now no longer about the army or sexual content because the idea of this is ‘rape a girl, rape her son, rape her 71-year-old mother’ for making sexual content. It means sex is bad but rape is okay.’
