A case was filed against 49 personalities belonging to the fields of art, culture and literature including celebrities like Konkana Sen, Aparna Sen and Mani Ratnam for writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against mob lynching incidents. Now, the Muzaffarnagar police has found the case false due to lack of evidence and documents. Earlier, a Muzaffarnagar based lawyer had filed a petition alleging that the letter aimed at spreading hatred. Following which the chief judicial magistrate ordered police to lodge an FIR and investigate the matter.
