Saroj Khan's Bollywood journey with her favourite student Madhuri Dixit

The year 2020 has been a bad year for Bollywood. As fans were already struggling to come to terms with the death of stalwarts like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan, and Sushant Singh Rajput, now legendary choreographer of the film fraternity, Saroj Khan too passed away due to cardiac arrest in a Mumbai hospital. The legendary 'masterji' who has trained several Bollywood celebrities in her career span of over four decades shared a very special bond with Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, who she called her most favourite student. Saroj and Madhuri first collaborated for Subash Ghai’s ‘Uttar Dakshin' and then went on to do some popular hits like 'Choli Ke Peeche,’ ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga,’ ‘Maar Daala,’ ‘Tamma Tamma Loge’ and ‘Ek Do Teen’ among others. Even in an interview, talking about Madhuri, Saroj once said that she never got the kind of respect from anyone else in the industry the way she received from Madhuri. Meanwhile, Saroj Khan's last choreographed number also featured Madhuri Dixit. The duo worked together in Abhishek Verman's 'Kalank' where Khan choreographed Dixit in the song 'Tabah Ho Gaye'.
