RK Studio is up for sale; Rishi Kapoor says, 'It isn’t always possible for a phoenix to rise from the ashes'

The iconic RK studio, built by the legendary actor Raj Kapoor nearly 70 years ago, is now up for sale. A team employed by the Kapoor family has initiated the process of negotiating the sale with prospective buyers. The studio, which is located in Chembur, suffered huge loss in a fire that broke out on September 16 last year. In an interview to a daily Rishi Kapoor revealed that the studio was a loss-making business even before the fire broke destroyed it. Considering the bigger picture, the family took the heart-wrenching decision collectively.
