Veteran actress Mandakini from the movie ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ who stole the hearts of millions with her glamorous looks has been away from the silver for a long time now. But now, the actress is preparing her comeback as she is at present reading scripts to decide which project will mark her Bollywood comeback. Her manager Babubhai Thiba, while revealing that the actress is focusing on choosing the best project for her comeback, in a conversation with ETimes, said, 'Mandakini is definitely making a comeback and at present reading scripts and inviting narrations, too. She is open to working in web series and films, but wants to play central characters in the projects.' Well, it was her brother Bhanu, who actually managed to convince the senior actress to return to the glam world. He told ETimes, 'When she would visit Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata, I could see that she still has a huge fan following. So, I told her that she must start acting again. She was offered the central role in a serial called 'Chhoti Sardani', which Mandakini refused but she suggested Anita Raaj’s name for the role instead.' Well, Mandakini is married to a former Buddhist monk, Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur, and became a follower of the Dalai Lama, devoting her time to Tibetan Yoga. Meanwhile, talking about her work front, Mandakini has appeared in more than 50 Hindi films and became one of the most popular actors in the 1980s and early 90s. She was seen in films like 'Tezaab', 'Loha', 'Aakhri Baazi' and others. But later in the year 1996, she quit the glam world owing to the failure of her films at the box office. However, she was last seen as a standee in the 2016 film 'Kapoor and Sons' wherein she portrayed Rishi Kapoor's fantasy.
