Raj Kundra pornography case: Businessman's firm director Abhijit Bhomble arrested by police

The latest update in the case related to the creation and distribution of pornographic content involving businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra is that one of the directors of his company, Abhijit Bhomble has been arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch Property Cell. According to reports, an actress had filed a case against four individuals from Raj Kundra's company. Along with Abhijit Bhomble, actress Gehana Vashisth, Prince Kashyap and Ajay Srimant are also named as accused in the controversial case. So far, a total of 11 arrests have been made after Kundra's arrest on July 19. Amidst various allegations, actress Gehana who has been named co-accused in the new FIR, has since the beginning defended the UK-based businessman. Gehana, who is currently out on bail, was summoned by the police on July 24 for interrogation related to Kundra's case. Even her anticipatory bail application was rejected by a Mumbai sessions court. Meanwhile, the sessions court of Mumbai will continue to hear the bail application of Raj Kundra on August 20, 2021. The court had been hearing the bail application of his business associate, Ryan Thorpe as well. Both were arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch last month. The duo was previously denied bail by a lower magistrate court in the same case. In the last hearing, the additional Sessions Court judge asked the prosecution to file its reply which was filed and submitted on August 10. Both will remain in judicial custody till August 20. While denying bail to Kundra, the magistrate court had noted that the alleged offences committed by the duo were detrimental to the health of the society. Police reportedly opposed Kundra's bail plea stating that if he is released on bail, he might try committing the same crimes or try and escape. Police also told the court that being a British citizen, Kundra could also escape if granted bail.
