In a sensational twist in Aryan Khan's drugs case, the qazi who conducted Sameer Wankhede's first marriage has recently said that the NCP leader Nawab Malik's claims over the NCB officer's name, marriage and caste certificate are true. Qazi Muzammil Ahmed told an agency that the marriage certificate tweeted by Nawab Malik is true and said, 'It has my signature. Each and everyone, from Sameer to his family, were Muslims when the nikah happened. If he wasn't a Muslim, the nikah would not have happened.' Ahmed also stated that the marriage which took place in 2006 had many high-profile guests and he 'read the nikah nama in 15 minutes'. Remembering more about the wedding he said that everyone including Sameer's family, relatives, advocates and witnesses were muslims. Qazi added that, 'The marriage was done with complete Islamic rituals. Had I known Sameer was a Hindu, I would not have done the marriage. In Sharia law, such marriages are not valid.' Certificate of Wankhede's first marriage was tweeted by Nawab Malik in the morning and then he held a press conference and alleged that the 'NCB officer forged caste certificate.' During the interaction Malik said, 'I want to make it clear that the issue I am exposing of Sameer Dawood Wankhede is not about his religion. I want to bring to light the fraudulent means by which he has obtained a caste certificate to get an IRS job and has deprived a deserving Scheduled Caste person of his future.' He also challenged Wankhede to show the real certificate and prove the one he tweeted to be false and said, 'The certificate I have tweeted is the official document from BMC. The law says that if a person converts to another religion, then he ceases to get benefits of caste.' Malik has been targeting Wankhede since the day Aryan Khan was arrested by NCb after a raid on a cruise ship. While condemning Malik's claims about his first marriage and religion Wankhede has said that he didn't convert, but married according to Islamic rituals as it was his Muslims mother's wish. Wankhede while replying to Malik's allegations told an agency that, 'Fulfilling the wish of one’s mother in a secular country is not a crime. I am proud of secularism in our country. My mother was a Muslim and my father is a Hindu. I love both of them very much.' Sameer Wankhede is currently facing a vigilance probe against him after Prabhakar Sail, a personal bodyguard of a witness in the Aryan Khan drug case accused him of demanding a bribe.
