Police complaint against stand-up comedian Yash Rathi for allegedly making an ‘objectionable’ remark on Lord Ram

A case has been registered against stand-up comic and YouTuber Yash Rathi in Dehradun for allegedly making an ‘objectionable’ remark on Lord Ram during a comedy event on April 8. TOI reported that the police complaint was lodged by the state president of a right-wing Hindutva organization. The complainant alleged that Rathi cracked a joke in bad taste about Lord Ram’s crossing the sea. ‘Nobody has the right to hurt sentiments of Hindus’, he told TOI.
