'Period - End of sentence': Villagers in small UP village celebrate victory of its daughters at Oscars

A village in western Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district saw joyous celebrations as the short film, 'Period - End of Sentence', won an Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards. Suman and Sneha, two of their own had gone to America to receive the Oscars and the villagers couldn't be any prouder of their stars. The short documentary produced by Guneet Monga is based on a group of women, including Sneha who led a revolution against the taboo surrounding menstruation in the Indian society. The villagers are now waiting with much fervour for their daughters to return and show them the Oscar award.
