Pakistani musician Meesha Shafi’s sexual harassment appeal against Ali Zafar gets rejected

The Governor of Punjab has dismissed the appeal of Pakistani musician Meesha Shafi filed against singer Ali Zafar accusing him of sexual harassment. Her appeal was rejected on July 11, but according to actor’s legal team quoted by a newspaper, Zafar’s debut Pakistani film ‘Teefa in Trouble’ was scheduled to release around the same time and they didn’t want the attention to be diverted from the movie. After which Meesha’s legal team reached the Lahore High Court with a petition against the Punjab governor’s dismissal of her complaint against Zafar under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.
