They say success is not everyone's cup of tea and yesteryear actress, Mamta Kulkarni's journey in Bollywood, is one of the biggest examples of the saying. Born in a Marathi-speaking family, Mamta landed several roles in Bollywood despite her Marathi accent and inability to speak fluently in English. Starting her career in the year 1992 with film 'Tiranga', the gorgeous actress bagged herself the 'Fresh Face' award a year later for her film 'Ashiq Awara' co-starring Saif Ali Khan. It was soon that she became a popular name courtesy of her breathtaking beauty and commercially successful dance numbers. It was in 1998 when things started turning around for Mamta when she worked in Raj Kumar Santoshi's ambitious project 'China Gate'. From controversies about her having arguments with Santoshi over her screen space to her being unhappy about not being starred in the hit song 'Chamma Chamma', Kulkarni soon vanished from the silver screen. In 2013, Mamta married Vicky Goswami and bid adieu to her acting career for good. Last seen in a Bangladeshi film, 'Shesh Bongsodhar', Mamta's name did arise in several controversies but the actress never really found her way back in the Bollywood industry.
