Monica Dogra pens a hard-hitting note on being judged by society 'for her accent, looks, body'

Actress Monica Dogra, who made her big Bollywood debut with Kiran Rao’s 'Dhobi Ghat', in 2011 never shies away from voicing her opinion on social media. After starring in films like 'Rock On','David' and 'Teraa Surroor', the actress has recently embarked on OTT platform. Now, taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Monica, shared her unhappiness over the times people had judged her for her accent, looks, and body. The 'David' actor wrote that ‘deconstructing’ women and their bodies were like a ‘culture’ in the society. Calling it like ‘commodifying’ women, she stated that it did not happen to men in the same manner. She hoped that people get better to move on from this ‘sickness’. Monica's tweet read as, 'The number of times people have judged me for my accent, my looks, my body. We’ve made a culture around deconstructing women - their bodies. Commodifying them. It never happens to men in the same way it happens to us. It’s a sickness. We should be better than that.'
