Majid Majidi reveals why he chose Malvika over Deepika for 'Beyond the Clouds'

Renowned filmmaker Majid Majidi, who has directed Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khatter's debut film, 'Beyond the Clouds', recently revealed why he chose to cast Malavika Mohanan over Deepika Padukone in the film. Although Deepika has initially auditioned for the film, the filmmaker finalised on Ishaan and Malavika. "I didn't want to work with Bollywood superstars. I always wanted to shoot at different locations in Mumbai, because places are also characters in my films. But even for one audition, it was difficult with Deepika (Padukone) as there was a large crowd and even more curiosity. That was the reason for not wanting to cast a superstar," he admitted.
