Indian tennis player Leander Paes has reportedly approached a Mumbai sessions court to quash and set aside the court order directing him to pay monthly maintenance of Rs 1 lakh and monthly rent of Rs 50,000 to his former partner Rhea Pillai. The order which was passed by a metropolitan magistrate court in February had also said that Paes had ‘caused various acts of domestic violence’ to Pillai. In his appeal, Paes has reportedly said that he is unable to take care of the financial needs of Pillai who ‘splurged on herself’. He also alleged that she chose to burden him financially despite receiving two flats from her former husband Sanjay Dutt as part of their divorce settlement.
