Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh' faced huge backlash for allegedly glamourising toxic masculinity and promoting misogynistic content after it's release in 2019. However, Kiara has defended the film recently claiming that the slap scene from the film was 'blown out of proportion'. In her recent interview with a portal, Kiara said, 'For me deep down it’s a love story and the thing about love is that it’s the only thing that will allow you to forgive certain behaviours in life.' Kiara pointed out that in the film the character 'Preeti leaves Kabir post the slap scene' and people didn't notice that. Rather, they have an issue about her 'accepting him at the end when he comes back to her'. Kiara added, 'At the end of the day this is the love of her life that is in front of her, and she gives in. That’s what love does I guess.' The diva concluded it by saying, 'When you take a scene out of the film and blow it out of proportion then you just talk about the scene, you have not seen the film in totality.'
