Popular singer Kanika Kapoor was booked for allegedly cheating a Noida based event management firm. In lieu of the allegations, Kanika has officially offered her statement in which she claims the accusations of cheating against her are “false, baseless, and malicious”. The complainant, Manoj Sharma has said that the his firm had paid Rs 24.95 lakh (including air fare, hotel) to Kanika to perform at an exhibition on January 22 in Aligarh. The singer, however failed to turn up and also did not return the money that she had been paid.
