Kamal Haasan's daughters Shruti And Akshara Haasan release an official statement on father's health post the surgery

Bollywood actor and south superstar turned politician Kamal Haasan recently underwent leg surgery. Taking to their respective Instagram handles, Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan have shared a statement talking about their father's surgery and along with a health update. In the statement, the duo revealed that the superstar's surgery was conducted in Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai and expressed their gratitude to all his fans for their good wishes for the superstar. The statement reads, 'We would like to begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, prayers and genuine concern regarding our father's recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success! The surgery was performed on his leg this morning at Sri Ramachandra Hospital performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mohan Kumar along with Dr. J.S.N Murthy. The doctors, attendees and the hospital management are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well, is in good spirits and working towards a speedy recovery'. The statement further revealed that the film 'Sadma' actor will return home in four to five days. For the unversed, the south actor was admitted to a hospital a couple of years back after he injured his leg and underwent surgery. More recently, just a few days back, he was re-admitted to undergo a follow-up surgery. Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor turned politician, before getting admitted to the hospital, tweeted a statement that read, 'Due to an accident a few years back, I had undergone a surgery on my leg. In continuation of that surgery, I was required to undergo a follow-up surgery. The doctors had advised me to take a rest till then. I undertook my professional and political responsibilities superseding the advice given, to enable me to reach out to my brothers and sisters,' In the statement, he even promised his followers that he will come back 'fully rejuvenated' within a few days to resume his political campaign.
