Kabir Bedi talks about his bankruptcy in Hollywood: It's very humiliating for a celebrity

Veteran actor Kabir Bedi hit headlines in April this year due to the shocking revelations that he made in his autobiography titled 'Stories I Must Tell: The Emotional Life of an Actor', which he penned during the lockdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic. From his controversial relationship with the late actress Parveen Babi to his late son Siddharth's suicide, the 74-year-old actor has touched upon various aspects of his life that were either controversial or not known to many. In his book, reflecting on a 'traumatic' chapter in his life when he went bankrupt, he had mentioned that it was humiliating for him. Now, in a recent interview, he opened up about the same and said, 'I went through traumatic experiences with my son's suicide, with my bankruptcy in Hollywood. It's very humiliating for a celebrity to be bankrupted. But you have to find ways of rising, and resurrecting yourself.' He added, 'All through my life, I've reinvented myself. A lot of the meditation I learned in my you, a lot of the spiritual underpinnings my parents gave me through their remarkable traditions of Sikhism and Buddhism, and my own inner sense of self gave me the strength to say, 'no, I will fight back'.
