'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has heaped praises on ace lyricist Javed Akhtar. In a conversation with a portal, the filmmaker called the lyricist one of the 'well-read, intelligent people who were tied to the roots of India.' He said, 'Javed Akhtar may be a communist, he may fight against the right-wing, it doesn’t matter.' He further added that in the films written by Akhtar, all heroes were fighting a corrupt police inspector or corrupt MLA, but now the only issue being highlighted in the films are whether you are sleeping with this person or that person.
