After International celebs like Hollywood actress Rihanna and climate activist Greta Thunberg tweeted about the ongoing farmers' protest in New Delhi, several celebrities had called for unity and stood against any propaganda being spread against India and it's policies. Now reacting to the same, actress Konkana Sen Sharma has explained about why a number of prominent Bollywood stars and cricketers put out similar tweets on the farmers’ protest. A Twitter user wrote, 'When it comes to Bollywood or cricket celebs doing what they're doing, I wonder, is it the carrot or is it the stick? They're rich enough to not be bribed, so it must be fear of some kind. What kind? I hope some insider reveals the full story one day.' The actress replied to him saying, '@amitvarma I think for many, it is fear.' Earlier, many stars like Akshay Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher, Suniel Shetty; filmmaker Karan Johar; and producer Ekta Kapoor tweeted on their respective social media handles while stating that the nation shouldn't be divided. However, Bollywood's stand against any propaganda was criticised by actress Taapsee Pannu, who went on to tweet, 'If one tweet rattles your unity, one joke rattles your faith or one show rattles your religious belief then it’s you who has to work on strengthening your value system not become ‘propaganda teacher’ for others.' For the unversed, Rihanna recently extended support to the Indian farmers with her tweet which read as, 'why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest'. Soon after, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg shared the same story and expressed 'solidarity' with the protesters.
