Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff celebrates his 65th birthday today. He was born on February 1, 1957 in a chawl in Mumbai’s Walkeshwar area. From a local tapori to a successful Bollywood actor, Jaggu dada has a story which is no less than the script of a film. Jackie who was born in a very poor family left his studies after 11th grade in search of a job to provide for the family. It is said that he went to Mumbai’s famous Taj Hotel for a cooking job but was rejected. After wandering in search of a job for several days, one day Jackie was waiting at the bus stand and a man, seeing his height, asked him, 'Will you be interested in modeling?' And in response Jackie said, 'Will you pay? Jaggu Dada's journey to become Jackie Shroff started from there, and eventually he got a chance to work in Subhash Ghai's film 'Hero' which was a super-hit and made him an overnight star. Many directors wanted to sign him after that as Jackie was flooded with offers.Interestingly, he did not stop living in the chawl despite the success of his first film. Even after his marriage, his wife Ayesha who belonged to a noble family stayed in the same chawl with Jackie for years on his insistence. Today, the two live in a posh apartment in Bandra, and are doting parents to Krishna & Tiger Shroff. On the occasion of his birthday, Ayesha Shroff wrote a heartfelt message for her husband as she shared a series of his pictures on Instagram. She wrote, “Happppppiest birthday to the man with the kindest heart in the World! Best son and most loving father!" She also tagged their kids Tiger & Krishna in the post. Even Tiger shared a collage of Jackie's pictures and referring to him as young boy, he wrote, “Happy 18th birthday to the best dad. Love you so much. God bless you always with the best health. Hope I manage to make you a little more proud this year, the way I am so proud to be your son." Actor Abhishek Bachchan also wished Jackie with a throwback picture, calling him ‘the coolest of them all’. On the work front, Jackie Shroff was last seen in Rohit Shetty's hit film ‘Sooryavanshi’ in which he played the role of a terrorist. He has films such as ‘Firrkie’ and ‘Atithi Bhooto Bhava’ in the pipeline, and it is also speculated that he will be seen in ‘Singham 3’ as an antagonist to Ajay Devgn.
