Sulochana Latkar was once a prominent name in Marathi and Hindi film industry. Born as Nagabai on July 30, 1928, in Khadaklat village of Belgaum district, Sulochana Latkar made her debut in movies in 1943. Sulochana Latkar has worked in nearly 300 Marathi and Hindi movies. Sulochana Latkar once said that she loved playing mother to three actors—Sunil Dutt, Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna. Sulochana Latkar was married at the age of fifteen to Aabasaheb Chavan, who belonged to a landlord family. From a lead actor, Sulochana turned to character roles and portrayed them exceptionally well in films like ‘Dil Deke Dekho’ (1959), ‘Aayi Milan Ki Bela’ (1964), ‘Aaye Din Bahar Ke’ (1966). Sulochana Didi was awarded Padma Shri in 1999.
