'Gol Maal' actor Amol Palekar hospitalised in Pune due to prolonged illness

Veteran actor Amol Palekar, known for his role in 'Gol Maal' where he played a double role as Ramprasad Sharma and Laxmanprasad Sharma, has been admitted to a hospital in Pune. According to a few reports, his wife Sandhya Gokhale shared his health update and said that Amol's health condition has been improving and the actor is now better. Amol Palekar is suffering from a prolonged illness. According to his wife, due to excessive smoking, 10 years ago the veteran actor had to be admitted to the hospital. On the work front, Amol Palekar made his debut with a Marathi film 'Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe' in 1971. Though he got his first break in Bollywood in 1974 with 'Rajnigandha', Amol's notable works include 'Naram Garam', 'Gol Maal', 'Shriman Shrimati', 'Gharonda', 'Rang Birangi', 'Bhumika' and 'Chhoti Si Baat'.
