One can't remember Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a member of Parliament for five decades, without his beautiful, hard-hitting and sometimes satirical poems, that even won the accolades of those sitting in the opposition and won many monikers like 'shabdon ka jadugar'. His speeches always bore humbleness, even for his opponents. Born on December 25, 1924 in Gwalior, Vajpayee first chose pen as his medium and ran an RSS magazine in early 1950's, but, politics chose him when he participated as a freedom fighter in Quit India Movement. In 2005 Vajpayee announced his retirement after more than 40 years in politics.
