National Award-winning actor Surekha Sikri passed away in the morning of July 16 following a cardiac arrest in Mumbai at the age of 75. The actor suffered a brain stroke in 2020 and a paralytic stroke in 2018 and was not doing well since past few months. Confirming the news, the actor’s agent Vivek Sidhwani told, 'Three-time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers. The family asks for privacy at this time. Om Sai Ram.” Born in Uttar Pradesh, the actor graduated from National School of Drama (NSD) in 1971. Her father was in the Air Force and her mother was a teacher. She was married to Hemant Rege and they have a son together, Rahul Sikri.
