As the cinema lovers mourn the demise of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, not many know that the actor expressed his desire to visit Pakistan before his death. For the unversed, Kapoor's had an ancestral house by the name, 'Kapoor Haveli' located in Kissa Khwani Bazaar, Peshawar, Pakistan. It's the same mansion where Rishi Kapoor's father, Raj Kapoor, was born. As per the reports, the Kapoor Haveli had 5 storey but the upper three floors were destroyed due to cracks caused by an earthquake. The grand mansion, which was built by Prithviraj Kapoor's father somewhere between 1918 and 1922, consisted of 40-50 rooms. Talking about the mansion in an interview, Rishi Kapoor revealed that he went to Peshawar in 1990 with his uncle Shashi Kapoor and father, Raj Kapoor, and brought mud from the Kapoor Haveli's courtyard to preserve it as their heritage. Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, said that he got a call from Rishi Kapoor to convert their ancestral mansion into a museum, and hence, in 2018, the house was converted into a museum. The veteran actor, who was an ardent Twitter user, also expressed his desire to visit Pakistan before his death as he wanted his kids to see their roots.
