A decade-long wait for getting geographical indication (GI) tag to Kolhapuri Chappal has ended. The controller general of patents, designs and trademarks has granted the GI tag to Kolhapuri chappal from Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Solapur distrcts of Maharashtra.
