The premiere institute in the city is gripped by yet another protest which began on Monday The students of the institute have written letters asking for a better infrastructure and detailed academic syllabus. According to the institute’s new norms, pupils are made to shoot in two separate slots. What earlier was from 9 am to 6 pm has now been revised to 8 am to 4 pm and 5 pm to 1am. Bhupendra Kainthola said, “Cinematography students had submitted a representation of their issues to me on Monday. Subsequently on Tuesday, a meeting was called with the HoDs to discuss the matter. Teachers separately engaged with the students on the same day to discuss the issues. On Thursday, student representatives again met me and put forth their concerns in the presence of the dean. As some of the issues concern inter-departmental coordination, wider discussions are currently on. It is expected that the matter will be resolved by Friday.”
