The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with fervour at the police lines in Kanpur. Kanpurites in huge number gathered to witness the ceremonial parade that was performed by the police personnel and later the cultural performances by school and college students. Deputy chief minister UP, Keshav Prasad Maurya, the chief guest for the occasion unfurled the national flag.The ceremonial parade and the cultural performances by school and college students turned out to be the centre of attraction for the crowd present. Also present during the celebrations were commissioner Subhash Chandra Sharma, district magistrate Vijay Vishwas Pant, ADG Avinash Chandra, IG Alok Singh and SSP Anant Dev.
