Abhishek Mishra, one of the organisers, explained the rules to the participants and looked after the arrangements. A cheer went up in the crowd as Milind’s wife Ankita Konwar also joined him on stage, along with bureaucrats Anil Kumar and Lalita Pandey. "It’s heartening to see such a large turnout of runners in Lucknow today,” said Milind as he cheered the runners on, adding, “Six years ago when I had come for the first marathon, there were hardly 600 participants. This time it’s ten folds, cheers for you Lucknow!"
