Lucknow Police's Pink Booths for women safety

The Pink Booths spotted at all prominent crossings of the city are the latest offerings of the Lucknow Police. The booths are manned by four constables and headed by a lady Sub Inspector 24x7 to assist women in speedy redressal of their complaints in the areas they have been set up. As of now the structures can be spotted at the 1090 Crossing, Loreto Convent Crossing, Lohia Path, Bhootnath Metro Station, Khurramnagar, Husadia Chauraha, near National College, and Bandariyabagh, among other locations.The two-storey structure is equipped with all amenities including an office on the ground floor and a bedroom and a washroom on the first. These booths are secured with CCTV cameras and are constantly connected to the 1090 Women Powerline for grievance redressals. This is part of the Safe City project, under the Smart City initiative.The environment friendly booth has solar panels on the roof to be powered by solar light. As of now 100 booths are being set up in Lucknow while later on the pink booths will come up all over the state.
