Play Daastan-E-Ram, a play in Urdu, based on Ramayan was staged at the NCZCC auditorium in Prayagraj, recently. The play written by Professor Danish Iqbal, was directed by veteran theatre director Mustajab Malik.
The play was staged by Sandeep Singh's Joker Theatre Group from Delhi in association with Tariq Khan's Benhur's Forum for Theatrical Arts (BFTA), a Prayagraj based theatre group. With most of the characters of Ramayan being played by Muslim artists, the play aims to boost the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb of India. While the role of Sita was played by Shanfa Rehman, Sandeep Kartar Singh played Ram. Acts of Mohd Adnan and Sivesh Tyagi as Lakshman and Ravan, respectively, were also liked by the audience.
