The Albertian International FIDE rated chess tournament, organised by St Albert's College, was postponed sometime back owing to the floods in Kerala. The event has now been inaugurated at the college campus and it has kicked-off to an exciting start. With about 192 participants from across the State and outside, there are players from school, college and university levels, who have already proven their merit at various competitions. The prestigious event offers a prize money of Rs 7,21,000 to the winners.
