The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has harnessed Italian and Swiss techniques to control rockfalls and landslides in the Bor ghat section of the Pune-Mumbai expressway, especially during the monsoon. MSRDC officials are employing techniques like high-tensile strength wire-nets and rock-bolting at rockfall-prone areas. The MSRDC has finished installing wire meshes at 85-90% of the critical areas in this section.
