Bihar reserves 33% seats for girls in engineering, medical colleges
The Bihar government has reserved 33% seats for girls in engineering, medical colleges. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar asked the officials of the science and technology and the health and medical education departments to take necessary steps to reserve minimum 33.3% seats for girls in all engineering and medical colleges. Reservation will be started from coming academic session. The Bihar chief minister also reviewed two proposed Bills to be laid in the next session of the state assembly for setting up two new universities exclusively for engineering and medical science streams. After enactment of the proposed Bills, all engineering colleges across the state would be governed by the proposed ‘Bihar Engineering University’ and medical colleges by the proposed ‘Bihar University of Medical Sciences.’
