Kolhapur SP Mahendra Pandit on June 08 held a press conference in the wake of the tension that erupted in the city over an alleged objectionable social media status. While talking to the media, SP Mahendra Pandit informed that the situation in Kolhapur city and the district became normal. “The situation of Kolhapur city and district has become normal since yesterday afternoon. 4 CRPF company, 300 Police constables and 60 officers deployed...” said Kolhapur SP Mahendra Pandit.Tension gripped Kolhapur after some youth allegedly posted objectionable posts on social media with a reference to Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. Section 144 has been imposed in Kolhapur on June 08 following the reports of violence in the city. The Internet services have also been suspended.
