Over 22 students fell ill after eating khichdi provided by the midday meal schemes in Balvikas Vidya Mandir in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari. The victims were admitted to the hospital because of food poisoning but the condition of the students are said to be stable now. According to one of the trestee of the school, about 450 students were served the khichdi but around 5 of them vomited and the others complained of uneasiness. He said the self help group appointed by the BMC had been providing midday meals to the school for the past 2 years and the teachers taste the meal before serving it to students.
