Shiv Sena corporators in the Mira-Bhayander municipal corporation smashed furniture in the mayor's office after the proposal for Bal Thackeray cultural auditorium was not included in the corporation meeting. While the BJP-Sena combine has been running the Mira-Bhayander municipal corporation, but BJP has the upper hand as it has 61 corporators compared to Sena's 22. Both parties had fought the civic polls in 2017 separately, but had to join hands after BJP failed to get outright majority.
