Even as the new government in Maharashtra is still trying to find its feet at Mantralaya, a former BJP Union minister created a flutter with his remarks. Ananthkumar Hegde, a BJP MP from Karnataka is known for his controversial statements and he made this statement on how he claims BJP saved funds worth Rs 40,000 crore from being misused. Fadnavis has now refuted Hegde’s claims saying no money was returned to the Centre. The question is why did Hegde raise this issue. Was it just to garner votes in Karnataka where bypolls are scheduled on 15 assembly seats on December 5th? Or is there something more to it. Shiv Sena says it is treachery if true. Hegde’s comments may have just turned into another headache for BJP in Maharashtra.
