Historical decision by SC: Girish Mahajan after verdict on Maharashtra political crisis
Maharashtra Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Girish Mahajan on May 11 welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on the Maharashtra political crisis that it cannot restore the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state as Uddhav Thackeray had resigned voluntarily before facing a floor test. He called it historical and also said the Shinde Government is no more in danger. He said, “I welcome this historic judgement given by Supreme Court. Shiv Sena had just 51 MLAs, out of which 41 left. Uddhav Thackeray faction might have their own perception, but in the end, the judgement is important. If the entire act of Shiv Sena was wrong then the Supreme Court would have suspended all the 16 MLAs, but the Supreme Court has denied that these MLAs cannot be suspended. There is no danger to the Eknath Shinde government. Now the decision rests on the Speaker, so let the Speaker decide on the suspension of MLAs.”
