City's first hand transplant patient makes progress

Monika More, who was Mumbai's first hand transplant patient, is now able to move her fingers, and her doctors expect progress, with more months of physiotherapy. On January 11, 2014, Monika lost both her arms after she fell into the gap between a train and a platform at Ghatkopar station. On August 28, 2020, she became the first patient in Mumbai to undergo a hand transplant Monika's goal is to be able to write within a year's time and get a job soon.
