There were 50 doses that were initially earmarked for the vaccination camp at Rajawadi hospital. But when hundreds of students turned up, the number eventually went up to close to 350. All these are students with confirmed admissions to foreign universities who hope to get their vaccine shots before they travel to college campuses overseas. With a shortage of vaccines, Maharashtra suspended its inoculation drive for 18-44 year olds, leaving students like these in a fix. Monday was the first day when walk-ins were allowed at 3 designated hospitals exclusively for students with confirmed admissions to foreign universities. The drive continues till Wednesday but it's clear from the turnout that BMC will have to ramp up on its stock so it can accommodate as many students as possible.
