Politicos worship cows on the occasion of Gopashtami festival in UP

In Mathura, UP power minister Shrikant Sharma performs gaupuja on Gopashtami. And in Ayodhya, VHP vice president Champat Rai and Ayodhya MP Lallu Singh perform Gau Puja on Gopashtami. Gopashtami is a festival that is dedicated to Lord Krishna and cows. The event organisers seek more use of cow products in daily life and capital punishment for killing of cows. It is the coming-of-age celebration when Krishna's father, Nanda Maharaja, gave Krishna the responsibility for taking care of the cows of Vrindavan.
