Munna Bajrangi – whose name struck fear in the hearts of people in eastern UP – was accused in nearly 40 murders including BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai in 2005. Munna Bajrangi left from Jhansi to Baghpat jail at 730 am on Sunday. He was brought into the Baghpat jail by 830 pm the same day. On Monday morning around 6am when Munna Bajrangi was headed for a bath, he got into an altercation with another dreaded criminal – Sunil Rathi. As per reports, Bajrangi whipped a pistol at Rathi who in turn overpowered him and shot him ten times. Police authorities are still investigating whether this was a sudden encounter between Bajrangi and Rathi or was it a pre-planned murder.
