Speaking on Panchayat Polls, Asansol MP and TMC Leader Shatrughan Sinha on July 01 said that he had full confidence that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee would get sweeping results in West Bengal Panchayat election. “Governor CV Ananda Bose is working within his jurisdiction, so what can I say about it? It is an open-and-shut case. I can see the full support for Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for the panchayat polls. I can say on the basis of my experience that wherever I have gone, this time I am seeing full of support for Mamata Banerjee. People are very angry with the way Bharatiya Janata Party and PM Modi insulted Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. There is tremendous support towards Bengal CM. I can say confidently that there will be sweeping results for Mamata Banerjee in this Panchayat election,” says Shatrughan Sinha. Panchayat election will be held in a single phase on July 8, with vote counting scheduled for July 11. Panchayat polls in West Bengal will witness a fierce contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Trinamool Congress as they will be seen as a litmus test ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
