Mamata Banerjee says no to Niti Aayog meeting

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee once again courted controversy by saying no to attend Niti Aayog meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 15. The TMC leader said that Niti Aayog has no financial powers to support state plans and hence it is fruitless to attend the meeting. The Bengal CM conveyed her decision in a letter written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Mamata Banerjee also stayed away from the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 30.
