Ahead of Bengali New Year, ‘Bolan’ troupes mesmerize people of rural Bengal

Bolan is a form of folk drama, where a ballad is sung and enacted. During Gajan festival, that is celebrated ahead of Bengali New Year, which begins from April 15, these troupes travel from one village to another and perform various plays based on mythological characters.
